During the COVID-19 emergency, Mr Robb’s practice has been temporarily suspended; Mr Robb has volunteered to return to the NHS for the duration of the emergency.
Private hospital facilities will be used to increase NHS capacity, and all routine private activity has been suspended.
Mr Robb’s office has been closed to release up capacity for NHS administration staff, and we are therefore unable to respond to telephone messages.
We hope to restore normal clinics and operating during June 2020, depending on how the emergency develops.

Mr Peter J Robb – Consultant ENT Surgeon
Peter Robb is a Consultant ENT Surgeon and Past-President of the British Association for Paediatric Otorhinolaryngology (BAPO). He was Chairman of Council and is past-President of the Royal Society of Medicine, Section of Laryngology and Rhinology. Until 2011, Mr Robb was chairman of one of the four Guidelines Review Panels at the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). He was a professional specialist clinical assessor in ENT for the NHS National Clinical Assessment Service (NCAS), and was one of two National Specialist Advisors in paediatric otolaryngology to NCEPOD. Currently a DH specialty advisor for the Atlas of Variation and author for NHS Clinical Information, he was also a member of the DH HRG Expert Working Group.
Until 2014, Mr Robb was one of two UK appointed members of UEMS (European Union of Medical Specialties) for Otolaryngology (ENT), reporting to the EU Commission.
Publications, numbering over eighty papers and book chapters reflect the author’s interest in paediatric otorhinolaryngology. Peter Robb has co-authored a textbook, ENT in Primary Care, and contributed to the last two editions of Scott-Brown’s Otolaryngology, the prize-winning postgraduate ENT textbook. He was a co-author of the 2013 Royal College of Surgeons national document, Standards for Children’s Surgery.
In 2011, Mr Robb’s contribution to the NHS was recognised by a Gold National Clinical Excellence Award.
Since 2017, while holding an Emeritus NHS Consultant contract, Mr Robb is now exclusively in private practice, delivering both adult and children’s general ENT clinics in Surrey.
He has continued to teach, lecture and contribute book chapters to nationally and internationally recognised ENT textbooks.
